Surat: The heavy rains in the adjoining of the state has worsened the situation since last four days. This has triggered massive floods across North Gujarat, with districts of Banaskantha, Deesa, Idar, Rajkot, Patan and Ahmedabad being the worst affected.
Floods and relentless rain in Gujarat have killed more than 100 people and displaced 40,000 in the past three weeks.
In such a challenging situation, the people from all over the state has set an example for humanity. One such example is the Jain Temple of the city, which has raised funds to help the flood affected victims in the province.
Several women donated their gold ornaments to raise money for the flood-victims. The rising water level in Sabarmati River has now entered the nearby villages affecting normal life. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took an aerial survey of Banaskantha.
