Supreme court is hearing a petition against the government’s decision to withdraw the authority from Alok Verma and send him on leave. During the hearing, Venugopal said that the struggle between Verma and Asthana had created an unprecedented and extraordinary situation. The Attorney General said that our main objective is to ensure that public confidence in this major investigation agency of the country is restored. Earlier, Alok Kumar Verma had argued in the Supreme Court that his appointment was made for two years and can not be changed. Even he can not be transferred even On the petition of Alok Verma, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi had said that we are not going in allegations and contradictions. We are investigating this issue purely in the form of law.
