Dale Steyn returns to South African ODI team after 2 years

South African left-arm fast bowler Dale Steyn has returned to the national team two years later. They have been included in the squad for the one-day series against Zimbabwe this month-end. Steyn, 35, played his last ODI against Australia in October 2016. Apart from Stan, leg-spinner Imran Tahir has also returned to the 16-man squad after seven months.

The South Africa team has announced. Christian Zonkar has been included in the ODI team for the first time. He had earlier played the only T20 International against India in February this year in which he scored 49 runs. Faf du Plessis, who returned home due to injury on the Sri Lanka tour, has also been given a chance in the team. However, their play is dependent on their recovery from injury.

In addition to ODIs, two new faces are included in the team in the form of Rossi Wayne Der Dussen and Gihan Cloete for T20. Fast bowler Kigiso Rabada has been rested from the T20 series. Zimbabwe have to play the three-match ODI series on South Africa tour. The first match of the series will be played in Kimberley on September 30. This will be followed by the three-match T20 series from October 9.
