Polling will be held in the first phase on December 9th for the election of 106-Gadhada and 107 Botad seats in Botad district. Elections in the district, have to be conducted in the fair atmosphere through district election system and all the voters to participate in this great part of democracy to make it successful. Botad district election officer Sujit Kumar said in a press conference today.
The District Election Officer and the Collector, giving more details regarding the election, said that the notification for the election will be issued on 14-11-2017. The last date for submission of nomination papers, 21-11-17 and last date of form verification will be 22/11/2017 whereas the candidates can withdraw the name on 24-11-2017 and counting of votes will be held on 18-12-17.
He said in the context of the Assembly elections, the work by the district system has been clarified in order to maintain an adequate system of law and order has for conducting of Gujarat assembly elections in a free and fair atmosphere. Apart from this, he said, various teams have been formed with the appointment of various Nodal officers for the intensive implementation of Model Code of Conduct. Various programs, under Sweep, are being conducted to ensure voting in the district by voters.Election officials said that there will be no discomfort and any kind of stampede for the voters at polling booths.
On this occasion, District Development Officer and Expenditure Monitoring Officer Hitesh Koyakhe with B.M.Virani, the Model Code of Conduct officer, gave the necessary details. In this press conference, Deputy District Election Officer D.M. Gohil, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax Department Chaturvedi, Assistant Director, M.B.Dave, including electronic media friends, were present.
