A farmer in meeting the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in Pransli village in Somnath district of Gujarat has attempted suicide by consuming pesticide. Gir Somnath’s Superintendent of Police Rahul Tripathi told that in the village of Dolasa village of Kodinar taluka of Dahodia district, it was upset that the encroachment was not removed by the local authorities on Panchayati land.
The Superintendent of Police said that someone has illegally taken possession of a panchayat plot outside the agricultural land of the farmer. Because of this, it is difficult for him to enter his farm. The order has already been ordered by the collector to remove the encroachment but local officials did not take action on this. Tripathi said that as soon as the Chief Minister started addressing people in the village, Dodiya ate pesticide. He said that the policemen, posted at the venue, took the victim to a government hospital in Virwal. Doctors have stabilized his condition.
Dodiya told reporters that due to occupation of Panchayat land by the land mafia, it has become difficult for her to enter the farm. The land mafia closed the way to my farm by occupying Panchayat land. I had contacted the Chief Minister who ordered the removal of encroachment but nothing has happened till now. Dodiya told reporters in the hospital, “I repeatedly appealed to Panchayat officials and taluka development officer, but all was wasted. Due to this, I decided to end my life.
