You must have gone through that road, you must have seen it but you might not know that it is not an ordinary municipal school. Khadiya municipal school no.2 is just near Panchkuva Darwaja. This school is the first ever school in Ahmedabad. It was established on 8th January, 1827.Earlier it was named as Sheath Lalbhai Dalpatbhai municipal school no.1. Even after 190 years, even today this school stands as a great legacy of our heritage.
This school is renamed as municipal school no.2.There is office of AMC school board’s Hindi and Urdu zone in this building. “We run classes of 1st to 8th standard in this school.149 students are part of our school family,but the numbers of students are decreasing day by day.The school was renovated in 1927 and Lalbhai’s family helped in renovation and gave the fund of ₹54,500 to school”.- said Rakesh Acharya, school principal.
As per the information received from school website, Mulshankar Pranshankar Joshi was the first principal of this school.

School board website provides the list of schools established till 1908, but the list of schools established after 1909 to 1917 is not available.
