Vadodara: The local crime branch (LCB) of Vadodara rural police rescued the kidnapped 11-year-old girl from Ampad village near the city recently.
Police also arrested the girl’s uncle who had kidnapped her on January 5 from her house in Dabka village near Padra. However, the motive of kidnapping would be known only after the accused is questioned, said LCB sources, who arrested the accused on January 10.
Sources in Vadu police station, where the case was registered, said that the girl was also taken for medical examination to confirm any kind of assault by the man.
LCB sleuths had received specific information that the accused was seen with the girl in Ampad. “We had been on his trail for three days and contacted his friend in Manjusar, who gave us a tip-off. But the accused had already left there,” said a police official. He said later they received information from the local source that a man was seen with a young girl in Ampad. “When we reached Ampad, we found him walking with the girl on the side of the canal,” the official said.
