Jamnagar: According to the Reserve Bank’s guideline, it is compulsory for every account holder to link Aadhar number in the details of his bank account under the KYC. Earlier, the final deadline for this work is January 1st but now it has been extended until March 31. The Aadhar link accounts are essential for Government plans, subsidy benefits but the administrative system has failed to bring public awareness about this.
There is no Aadhar link in approximately 1 lakh bank account holders in more than 50 branches of SBI, operating in Jamnagar city-district. Even though this process is easy, the applicants are indifferent. It has also been found that applicants who do not get this link up to the bank account, their account will be inoperative after 1st April 2018, as per instructions of Reserve Bank of India.
