Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to stay away from the three-day Global Patidar Business Summit starting January 5 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
As per the information, PM Modi had been invited to inaugurate the event. However, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and deputy CM Nitin Patel will attend the inaugural event on Friday. The summit is being hosted by Patidar community-led organisation Sardardham Vishwa Patidar Kendra headquartered in Ahmedabad.
Around 10,000 Patidar industrialists from 32 countries and receive footfall of 3 lakh people in three days. The exhibition to have 500 stalls. The event is also seen as a consolidation of the Patidar community, a section of which has been up in arms with the State government in the past two-and-a-half years over their demand for reservation.
