Valsad: Code of
Conduct has come into force from 25th October 2017 as the General Election of
the Gujarat Legislative Assembly was declared by Election commission of India,
New Delhi. Voting will be held on 9 December in Valsad district for 5 assembly
constituencies. A press conference was organized by the District Electoral
Officer and Collector C R Kharsan at Collector’s office for implementing the
strict code of conduct for unbiased peaceful election.
In the press
Conference, Collector C R Kharsan gave the information that notification for
the election will be declared on 14 November. The last date for filing
nominations will be 21 November. The date for scrutiny of nominations will be
22 November. The last date for withdrawal of the nominations will be 24 November.
The counting of the votes will take place on 18 December. The code of conduct
will be in force from 25 October to 20 December.
Valsad district has
total 11,61,939 voters which includes
6,00,076 male and 5,61,863 female voters. There is total 1355 polling booth
over 1110 villages and 245 urban areas in the district. VVPAT will also be used
with EVM machine during the assembly election. The VVPAT machine would ensure
the voter about their vote so that an impartial election can take place.
Special ladies booth will also be set up especially for women voters at each
booth in which only women will be staffed.
For the implementation
of Code of Conduct, surveillance team, nodal officers, 17 flying squads and 19
statistic teams have been functioning in Valsad district.
