SPACE TECHNOLOGY and AERONAUTICAL ROCKETRY (STAR) was formed by Mr Sunny Kabrawala in the year 2015. STAR is basically the startup, based on research in space technology started by the students of GTU. STAR has formed an incubation centre named as STAR RESEARCH LABORATORY and launched a series of talk named as STAR INFINITY TALKS.

STAR is currently a team of 25 dedicated students from different schools and colleges, pursuing their bachelor in the field of Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Computer science, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Civil engineering.

 

Objectives of STAR are to work for innovations and research in the field of Space Technology and to provide a platform to the passionate students to work for space technology.

Recently, STAR announced first ever payload launch mission of Surat. STAR team developed a payload named as AXIS at STAR RESEARCH LABORATORY. AXIS is a payload that can sense the vibration and send the real-time data to the ground station. STAR built a rocket that had a capacity of lifting up AXIS up to the height of 250 meters, it was named as STARX.

On 9th February 2017 STAR successfully launched AXIS payload (up to the height of 250 meters on the campus of Bhagwan Mahavir College of Engineering and Technology at Surat. Final testing of STARX will be done soon at ISRO. STAR was appreciated by NASA engineer for AXIS.
