Umreth, Anand: There is a triangular contest in Umreth now in place of the quartzite at Umreth assembly seat. Eight candidates have filled the nomination for Umreth assembly but after withdrawing the nomination form of BJP’s leader Bhringraj Singh Chauhan has withdrawn his form today. Now there will be a triangular contest among major candidates, Kapilaben Chavda from Congress, BJP’s Govindbhai Parmar and NCP’s Jayantbhai Patel.
According to the received information, Rameshbhai Bhikbhai Parmar has filed nomination from his country party side in the Umarth assembly. While Bhalbhai Harman Patel of Bhalej, Sunilbhai Mahendrabhai Patel of Bhatpura, Jayantibhai Babubhai Parmar of Chikhadara, and Yakubbhai Abdulbhai Malak of Kanipura, has been inducted.
It is worth mentioning that Chauhan was standing as an Independent candidate till yesterday and he was firm on not withdrawing the form, while today he withdrew his candidacy by discussing with leading political leaders of the taluka including Umreth. The BJP, which has withdrawn the candidature, has turned down the resignation of the former. It has to be seen that the resident Bhringraj Singh will now remain silent or actively join BJP campaign. In the Congress, he did not get the MLA ticket, he joined BJP when ignored in during 2012 and 2017, and he filed an Independent nomination.
